When Our Hearts Condemn Us

Sometimes we need to think outside the box. Sometimes we need to let God be bigger than our assumptions and conventions. Maybe things aren’t what they seem.

(Vague enough?)

If you feel that God is leading you to do something a bit unconventional, something that has been proven to you to be full of God but that just isn’t usual, let me encourage you:

“Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will assure our heart before Him in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things” (1 John 3:18-20).

Sometimes our hearts condemn us. But let us have confidence in God as we live out what we feel he has instructed us to do. May we go where God goes, and may we go forth with confidence.

1. The ice storm that cancelled school and let me stay tucked in bed much longer than expected
2. The snow that accumulated over the course of the day
3. The pages of my new journal being filled up by interactions with God
